Mr. Nehme Elias Khawly is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of South Sudan in Lebanon. He was born on November 6, 1986, the third of a family of four children, from Chadra, a village in Akkar – North Lebanon.

From 1989 through 2004, he conducted his studies at Saint Joseph School, Cornet Chehwan – Lebanon. In 2004 – 2005, he joined the American University of Beirut (AUB) and graduated with a bachelor degree in Economics in 2008. He continued his graduate studies at AUB and received the degree of Master in Financial Economics in June 2009. Mr. Khawly currently conducts his doctoral studies PhD in International Relations and Diplomacy at the École Des Hautes Études Internationales et Politiques in Paris, France.

My consular mission is to serve all the South Sudanese residents in Lebanon, protect their interests and personal statuses, and offer them the necessary administrative services.
In Lebanon, Mr. Khawly co-owns a group of retail, import-distribution, and E-commerce companies that operate in several areas including the food and consumption industry. His affairs extend to South Sudan, where he established in July 2013, in Juba, African Middle East (AME) International company LTD with South Sudanese and Lebanese businessmen and lawyers. The company carries on businesses of investment, specifically in the trade of food, agricultural and medical fields.

Through his businesses, Mr. Khawly befriended a number of South Sudanese officials, and his relations have evolved with South Sudan as the connector between the South Sudanese and the Lebanese, and the sole watchful personage on the South Sudanese interests and personal statuses in Lebanon.

Following the requests of the South Sudanese residents in Lebanon, Mr. Khawly was asked to represent their country in Lebanon. In 2014, he was officially appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of South Sudan in Lebanon.

Mr. Nehme Khawly is married to Mrs. Sharon Jean Tamer, and they have two boys, Elias and Alexander.
